Alto das Fadas – literally, ‘the faerie hill’ – boasts
an area of 15 Hectares and is located in the Beira Alta region of Portugal, a short distance from the Serra da Estrela (highest mountain of Portugal 2000m above sea level and protected natural reserve) and Serra da Malcata (another protected natural range where you still can find the Iberian Lynx). This fertile undulating terrain is abundant in water and supports a microclimate favourable to agriculture.
In terms of infrastructure and facilities, the main house can sleep ten to twelve faeries straight away
– and with a little repair work on the other outbuildings, many more.
There are also amenities available in the main building such as a shower and bath. Generally the outbuildings are well built and a fireplace in the main house means the property will stay warm and draft free at night for a good night’s sleep.
Fields surround the property which are perfect for camping and further down the valley water holes are sheltered by communities of trees. As you can see from the images, the property and land has a great deal of character and with a dose of faerie sparkle and spirit, will become a home in no time.
